Creature Comforter
In addition to practicing holistic therapies on people, Linda is also qualified in equine massage and the use of Reiki and The Balance Procedure as well as Bach flower remedies on animals.
Linda regularly practices Reiki on animals too - they instinctively draw it from her when in her company or when she is doing a massage. Linda continues to improve her skills for distance healing for animals as this is often a much less complicated way of sending healing without the beastie being distracted, nervous, or having to travel. At the time of the distance healing appointment, Linda connects in using Reiki distance healing symbol and as she does so, she starts to get psychic feedback (just as she does when treating people) and Linda will send you a recording of the feedback that she gets from your creature's healing session. Distance healing sessions are £35.
Animals will intuitively know how much Reiki they want and will mostly gladly accept the healing if it lasts only ten minutes. However, Linda has had cats, dogs, horses wonder off and come back three or four times during a session but they stay for only a few minutes each time and they show her where they want her to focus the healing or massage ... it's quite an incredible thing to witness.
Linda is experienced enough to know to treat the aftercare of an animal just as you would a human but of course advises the owner that their creature may be more emotional, sleep more, want peace and quiet, need more water, maybe even a more bland dinner that night such as chicken and rice for dogs and white fish for cats. For horses the owner will know what will be right for their own horse as each horse’s diet is usually very individual – but something less heating and more easily digestible is good.
Exercise after a Reiki treatment should be light if any. Their animal will be healing and may just need to relax so doing anything strenuous should be avoided. This should be taken into consideration at the time of booking the appointment.
During a Reiki treatment Linda asks for any insights from the Universe so that she can help the creature and the owner with their care and understanding of situations.
For example, Linda had a vision whilst treating a horse. His previous owner was trying to load him into a horsebox and he reared and fell damaging his neck. He showed Linda this because he hated being schooled in the arena because it hurt his neck as he was asked to do corners, serpentines and circles on a particular rein.
It had got to the point that he was becoming a very dangerous ride, throwing his owner repeatedly and the last time he did so, he intentionally tried to kick her in the head when she was on the floor with a broken collarbone.
He was not a nasty horse at all, but he was being hurt constantly and pushed into doing something several times a week that caused him pain and he’d simply had enough but his intentions were being misunderstood.
Animals usually have a good reason for not wanting to do something and this can often be misinterpreted as being naughty, disobedient or not very clever. Always look for a reason and tuning in with Reiki will help with this process.
This horse was sold and became the lead horse on riding out in the countryside at a Riding Centre and loved his new life as he was not being asked to do the schooling work that caused him pain. There is a reason for the saying "horses for courses" and that course was not the right one for him - happy hacking was his!
