Warm bamboo massage
This beautiful massage gives the benefit of a deep tissue massage without the pain - to either the Therapist or the client. The bamboo does the work! You will need to buy your own set of bamboo sticks - a link can be sent to you so that you know what you will require. The sticks are usually between £80 and £100 for the set. You will then need a heated blanket or heated bag to warm the bamboo prior to a treatment. It is always recieved well and clients always benefit from the extra detox as the bamboo covers a greater surface area. In addition, we work on acupressure points and so the body's own energies and healing ability is stimulated during this treatment.
Can do through clothes such as leggings and a t-shirt so ideal for modest patients, those with body image issues and those with mobility issues who cannot easily undress / dress.
Emotions are held in the body and muscles have memory. As we release knots, the original emotional cause such as stress (making us hold our body in an uptight manner (think shoulders which are constantly up round our ears!) , trauma or indeed bad posture from low self-esteem, can be released. When we hold ourselves in a strong, positive posture it changes our whole demeaner.
Works on acu-pressure points giving added therapeutic benefit of stimulating the body’s own healing processes into action and giving the body the added energy to heal as energetic blocks are shifted during the session.
Because the bamboo covers more surface area than the massage therapist’s hands do, it is more detoxing, stimulating the lymphatic system with the techniques used, and then sweeping the body with the massage sticks to encourage the flow of lymph out of the body.
Bamboo Massage can be done with the client sitting on a massage chair or, more commonly, on a treatment couch. We use warmed bamboo tools of varying lengths and diameters to roll, knead and apply pressure in order to "deeply" relax muscles enabling improved cardiovascular circulation and a deep state of relaxation which empowers effective breathing and so increased oxygenation of the body.
